An aspiring Dayton, Ohio actor who starred in Eminem’s hit movie 8 Mile has been found dead of an apparent suicide, AllHipHop.com has confirmed.

Actor De'Angelo Wilson, who starred as “DJ Iz” in 8 Mile, apparently hung himself on November 26, just one day before Thanksgiving.

According to police, Wilson, who also had a role in the hit movie Antwone Fisher, was found dead in the back room of a Los Angeles business, although it took police a week to locate his next of kin.

Once Wilson’s mother was contacted, she revealed that she didn’t have the funds to bring her deceased son’s body back to his native home of Dayton.

A group of his friends have stepped in - including the real Antwone Fisher, who befriended Wilson during the production of the movie Antwone Fisher.

Wilson’s most recent role was in 2006, when he starred as “Julius“ in Mercy Street.

He also had small roles in The Salon, CSI: NY, Outside Man and others.

Global Radio have suspended network presenter Steve Sutherland, following a number of complaints about offensive lyrics in a new Busta Rhymes song broadcast on his Saturday night show this weekend.

The track, called ‘Arab Money’, was aired at 9.58pm on Saturday 29 November and has prompted listeners to get in touch with Galaxy stations. The show is networked on Global’s urban music stations in Birmingham, Manchester, Yorkshire, Scotland, the North East and on the South Coast.

Global Radio have suspended Sutherland as well as his producer.

A spokesman for the UK’s biggest commercial radio group told Radio Today: “I can confirm that a track called Arab Money by Busta Rhymes was broadcast on Saturday 29th November at 9.58pm. A number of complaints have been received about the lyrics in the song and so both the DJ and his producer have been suspended pending further enquiries. Meanwhile Galaxy apologies for any offense caused.”

Sutherland has twice been named Best DJ at the MOBO Awards. He’s also a world famous club DJ and has put his name to 11 urban music compilation albums, attaining platinum and gold status.

The Galaxy FM websites are currently running a public apology on their front pages.

‘Arab Money’ has already attracted a lot of criticism on blog sites. One quotes Busta Rhymes in defence of the track: “Sometimes, people like to twist things. We ain’t mockin’ the culture. we ain’t tryin’ to be disrespectful. Ain’t no racism going on right here. If you listen to the song, you see that we are actually acknowledging the fact that the Arabian culture, a middle East culture is one of the few cultures that value passing down hard work riches that’s been built amongst the family. It would be nice if a lot of other cultures did the same thing. I would like for it to be like that in my culture where we could build things to the point where we got so much that we don’t need to rely on other cultures to contribute majorly in a financial way, or in whatever other way, to societies, communities or whatever governments we might live in. So, we are actually biggin’ up the culture. At the end of the day, I want to be like that. I think a lot of us want to be like that.”

[NEWS] Will Balfour Charged With Murdering Hudson Family

William Balfour, the only suspect so far named in the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, has been officially charged with their homicides, the Cook County State's Attorney's office told MTV News on Tuesday (December 2).

Balfour, 27, was charged at noon with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of home invasion in connection with the deaths of Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King.

An arrest warrant was issued for Balfour late Monday, prompting his transfer from the reception center at Stateville Correctional Center, where he was being held for an alleged parole violation, to the Cook County jail.

The Hudson family was informed of the charges, and are "relieved and happy that the Chicago police and fireman were able to bring this case to a successful conclusion," Chicago Police Deputy Supertintendent Steve Peterson told reporters at a press conference late Tuesday afternoon.

Peterson said that the Hudson family members had been "a key partner" in the investigation, assisting in establishing a timeline of events and other parts of the investigation "that we'd rather not say at this time.

"We don't want to delve too deeply into what was done with the family members," Peterson said.

Damon Dash is telling more tales about his estranged business partner, Jay-Z. His latest: that Jigga set off a feud with Kanye West by refusing to bestow his bling on Kanye.

Dash claims the simmering beef dates back to a 2003 Chicago concert, where the then-up-and-coming Kanye expected ruling Roc-A-Fella artist Jay to "knight" him by presenting him with a gleaming chain.

But, according to Dash, Jay didn't want to fork over the chain.

"This n- [Kanye ] was like, 'Wow. [Jay-Z] ain't going to give me the chain,'" Dash alleges in December's Complex magazine. "I had to take off my chain and give it to him, and I was heated. I had the real canary diamonds. That s- cost $40,000! I told Kanye, 'Yo, you got to give that back when we get off this stage!'"

Dash contends that after Jay-Z violated the code of hip-hop chivalry, "Kanye hated Jay-Z."

But a rep for Kanye tells us the story is "ridiculous and totally false."

Others suggested that Dash, whose business relationship with Jay ended badly, has trotted out the story to hype his latest protege, rapper Jim Jones.

"This is sad," says one source. "Damon does this every time he's promoting an artist. He just makes things up."

Despite Dash's feud claim, Kanye and Jay have performed several times together since the supposed bling diss.

"They're both on [Def Jam]," says a source. "They're friends and always have been."

Another hip-hop insider added, "No one has ever said that Kanye hated Jay. [West, Jay-Z and Dash] were all together at one point every single day. To say he hated him back then is silly."

"Damon wants to blow [Jim Jones] up," the source agreed, noting that Dash is producing a documentary about Jones in which Dash introduces the rapper to influential acquaintances, like Vogue editor Anna Wintour. "We'll see how this plays out."

Reps for Jay-Z and Dash didn't return calls. The full interview with Dash and Jones appears tomorrow on Complex.com.

No big conspiracy here: 50 Cent said he decided to delay the release of his Before I Self Destruct album from December 16 until next year because he needed more setup time.

"I'm trying to leave the same way I came in," he said Sunday night during "Total Finale Live." "February 4 [2003], Get Rich or Die Tryin' came out. I drop this album February 3. The time frame. It used to take six to eight weeks for us to position a hip-hop record. Now, it's taking 12 to 14 weeks.

"Just the positioning," he continued. "I'm not comfortable where I'm at right now. My song 'Get Up' is performing great. I'm happy with 'Get Up.' It moved faster than 'I Get Money' at radio. But I'm just looking for the opportunity to present more of my material [prior to the album's release]. It's not the strongest effort on my album; it's just a great start for me."

An article posted Friday in the New York Daily News paints a bleak financial picture for Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash. In addition to calling Dash a has-been mogul, who has descended into an MC Hammer-like financial abyss, the piece chronicles both the public and private financial woes of one of Hip Hop's most notable entrepreneurs. Writer Jose Martinez used court documents and interviews with various financial lawyers as the basis for his article.

"I've worked with musicians, artists and entertainers that in the eyes of the media are very wealthy," said Jason Gabbard when interviewed by the Daily News. "But to borrow a phrase from my Kentucky homeland, they haven't got a pot to piss in--they're broke."

Gabbard represented a firm that settled with Dash out of court for $148,505 of unpaid fees. The list of debtors includes Eastern Savings Bank, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, former accountant Barry Klarberg, and fashion designer Charlotte Ronson. Additionally, a Manhattan judge ordered the seizure of Dash's Chevrolet Tahoe earlier this week for not making the $714.99 monthly payments.

All told, the alleged debt adds up to over $10 million. Dash was busy helping his friend Jim Jones promote his Off-Broadway production "Hip Hop Monologues," [click to read] and, according to the Daily News, did not respond to interview requests. Dash's spokeswoman, Amanda Silverman, responded to the Daily News' article via e-mail saying he "won all of his lawsuits."

[NEWS] Kanye West Arrested Again

Kanye West was reportedly arrested and released early Friday morning (November 14) after an alleged incident involving a photographer outside a nightclub in England. According to TMZ.com, West was arrested shortly after getting into a scuffle with a paparazzo outside the Tup Tup club in Newcastle.

West, 31, was reportedly arrested at a hotel in nearby Gateshead and then released. While a police spokesperson declined to name the person involved (as is the custom in England) when reached for comment by MTV News on Friday morning, he did confirm that a 31-year-old man was "released with no further action after an alleged incident at the Tup Tup nightclub."

A rep for West had no comment on the incident when reached by MTV News Friday morning.

The London Paper blog reported that the photographer claimed he suffered a cut face and bruising after West pushed his camera into his face and shouted, "Get the f---ing camera off him." According to TMZ, the photographer had previously made similar claims against a British soccer player, but those charges were also dropped.

West, along with his road manager and bodyguard, Don Crowley, was arrested in September for getting into another altercation with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport.

West and Crowley were waiting for a flight to Honolulu, Hawaii, when they were met by a photographer and videographer, who were taking their photos. An altercation ensued, and the cameras of both paparazzi were damaged. The felony vandalism charges stemming from the incident were dropped because the property he damaged wasn't valuable enough to warrant felony charges.

West later blogged about the incident from his studio in Hawaii, saying, "We back in the lab!!!" he wrote. "I'm cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn't cool. I gotta work now ... I'll rant later!"

In her dazzling career, Makeba performed with musical legends from around the world -- jazz maestros Nina Simone and Dizzy Gillespie, Harry Belafonte, Paul Simon -- and sang for world leaders such as John F. Kennedy and Nelson Mandela.

"Her haunting melodies gave voice to the pain of exile and dislocation which she felt for 31 long years. At the same time, her music inspired a powerful sense of hope in all of us," Mandela said in a statement.

After closing 155 stores last week, Circuit City has finally bitten the dust. The electronics store chain—with 721 stores in the US and 770 in Canada—has filed for Chapter 11 protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Richmond, Virginia, pressured by the recession and competition from Best Buy and Wal-Mart. However, it may not be the end for the chain yet.

• January 2008: Increases a credit agreement from $500 to $1.3 billion.
• May 2008: Circuit City tries to sell itself to Blockbuster Inc., after the latter makes an offer that is later withdrawn. At this time, they fire employees with higher salaries and opens smallest stores.
• September 2008: Reports loss of $239.2 million, after sales fell for the sixth straight quarter.
• November 3: Last week they closed a fifth of their US stores, firing twenty percent of their 43,000-people workforce.
• November 10: Files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Lists $3.4 billion in assets and $2.32 billion in liabilities, owes HP $119 million and Samsung $116 million. It lost $5 billion in stock market value in just two years.

Circuit City has said that their intention is to keep normal operations in their current stores. In theory, under a Chapter 11 reorganization, companies get a chance to avoid closing, reorganize debt and survive. According to Gary Merson from HD Guru, a local store representative has said that they will even keep honoring and selling gift cards during this period

All three albums were due Nov. 25 but will now come out off-cycle on Monday, Nov. 24 in both physical and digital formats.

New York rapper 50 Cent has rescheduled the release of his last contractual album with Interscope Records.

The album, Before I Self Destruct, was originally slated for release on December 9th. Online retailers such as Target & Amazon.com however, are now listing a December 16th, 2008 releae date.

Before I Self Destruct is currently being led by it's first single, Get Up.

It features production from J.R. Rotem, Scott Storch, Dr. Dre, & Eminem with guest appearances coming from Akon, Dr. Dre, & Eminem.

In related news, 50 will be debuting "50 Cent: The Money and the Power" tonight on MTV.

The reality show, which Fif says is a visual companion to his upcoming book, "The 50th Law," will follow 14 contestants competing to show that they are the best entrepreneurs. 50 Cent will chop down the number of contestants until the winner is crowned and awarded $100,000 in seed money for their venture.

With two days remaining until Election Day, Jay-Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs told voters yesterday (Nov. 2) in South Florida not to be scared away from the polls by long lines. "It's bigger than us," Combs said. "We have to do it for our children, we have to do it for the people that died for us to have the right to vote."

Combs and Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, appeared before a crowd of about 800 at the Chester Robinson Athletic Center at Florida Memorial University for a "Last Chance for Change" rally.

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, music executive Kevin Liles and fellow recording artist Mary J. Blige also joined them at the get-out-the-vote effort for Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

"We stood in line to get the new Lil' Wayne CD," Liles said. "We stood in line to get a new pair of Jordans. We stood in line to get in here. So we ain't afraid of no lines."

The event was more of a campaign rally than hip-hop extravaganza. None of the artists actually performed on stage, instead using their time to stump for the Democratic nominee. A DJ played as the crowd waited for the group to arrive, and a gospel choir and college step teams also performed.

Mourners paid their respects to the Hudson family on Sunday at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church, more than a week after Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were found murdered in a still-unsolved crime. A private service attended by 100 people was followed by a parade of thousands of mourners, who filed into the small hall to write condolence notes on cards with the images of nephew Julian King, mother Darnell Donerson and brother Jason Hudson, according to the Chicago Tribune.

At one point, King's second-grade teacher, Carmen Williams, took the stage with three of her students to relate how King had recently begun telling knock-knock jokes, and how a classmate had shared one of those jokes with the other students in room 312 last week as they awaited word on whether their friend would be found safely following the murders of his grandmother and uncle in their South Side home. Williams and her students described King — who was close to his famous aunt — as "cheerful, a good listener, a friend," and spoke of his fondness for Spider-Man and the Power Rangers. Another student said they were sad that King "did not get to be president of the United States," while Williams recalled that when he raised his hand in class, he always had an enthusiastic look in his eye and he "always, always had the right answer."

The Reverend Krista Alston told the mourners that the service was a celebration of the three lives lost and urged the attendees at the private service not to dwell on the tragedy, according to the paper. "We came this afternoon to give a prayer of thanks for the lives of Darnell, Jason and Julian," Alston said. The Hudson family did not attend the service.

A cousin described family matriarch Donerson as a "joyous woman" who grew up on Chicago's gritty South Side loving "God and the Supremes." Shari Sweat said, "She taught me how to shake a tail feather. ... She had a soft voice, but you should not let that fool you. She was a great debater." Sweat also said that Donerson had voted early in the presidential election and that she would want everyone to get out and vote on Election Day.

The Tribune also reported that the Reverend Quentin Washington recalled being in the children's choir at the church with his cousin Jason Hudson. "We had fun at church," he said, calling his cousin "dependable, ... trustworthy ... and an encourager" in times of need. Following the private service, each attendee lined up outside the church and received a prayer book with a card containing the pictures of the three family members that urged them to "share your love" by writing down thoughts.

Then, during the public memorial, a flood of mourners walked through the small sanctuary past large pictures of the deceased, including one in which Donerson is leaning on her right arm as a smiling King peeks over her shoulder.

On Friday, police confirmed that the weapon found in a vacant lot near the spot where King's body was discovered was the gun used in the murders. No one has been charged in the case yet, but William Balfour, the estranged husband of Julia Hudson, King's mother, has been in custody on a parole violation and as a "person of interest" in the murders. A private funeral for the three victims is scheduled for Monday (November 3) at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago.

One of Jennifer Hudson's cousins, Demitrias Jackson, attended the community memorial and told E! News that Hudson is "very strong and she's holding the family together." Jackson added that Hudson will temporarily put her career on the back burner in order to be with her family and mourn. "She is going to take a break from acting," Jackson said. "She'll be taking time for herself and to be with her family."

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the newly formed Hudson-King Domestic Violence Protection Fund.

Def Jam Executive VP Shakir Stewart committed suicide earlier today (11/1/08).

Gyant broke the news on his GyantScoop blog and sources close to Stewart have confirmed his death, but couldn’t provide further information. Details on the incident were still sketchy at press time.

Stewart earned his stripes as an A&R at Def Jam Records, signing stars like Young Jeezy and Rick Ross before being promoted to Executive VP at the company earlier this year. Though his promotion came several months after Jay-Z’s resignation, Stewart asserted he wasn’t the God MC’s replacement. Stewart is also credited for signing Ciara, among others, in his pre-Def Jam days. Stay tuned as this story develops.

Kanye West wasn't kidding when he said his new album would feature the sound of the retro-rific 808 drum machine on every track. Over the weekend, a new song from the upcoming 808s & Heartbreak leaked: "Robocop," the one 'Ye collaborator Mike Dean said is supposed to get some added magic from Grammy-winning keyboard legend Herbie Hancock before the album drops November 25.

But West swears he wasn't behind the song's sneak peek. "I did not leak Robocop!!!" he wrote on his blog on Sunday. "That's not even the finished version. I'm pretty upset about it, but that's the way life is sometimes!"

The leaked version does sound a bit rough, but from the heartbeat drum pattern to the emergency siren effects to 'Ye's Auto-Tuned vocals, it fits right in with the future-shock motif of "Love Lockdown." In the tune, a deadpan West laments that a love has turned cold and, from the sounds of it, kind of surveillance-y. "Who knew she was a drama queen/ That'll turn my life to Stephen King's/ Checking everything like I'm on parole/ Up late night, like she on patrol/ I told her it's some things she don't need to know/ She never let it go," West sings over the spare track, which also features a thrumming bass line and some strings near the end.

At a listening party earlier this month, the rapper debuted a number of the album's tracks, including "Amazing" with Young Jeezy and "Tell Everybody You Know," featuring Lil Wayne, who Dean said sounds "a lot like Axl Rose" on the track. One of West's previous collaborators, rock producer Jon Brion, provides strings on "Welcome to Heartbreak," while a song called "Say You Will" is said to be reminiscent of early George Michael. "Heartless" is currently slated to be the second single from the album.
